Brighton’s Volk’s Railway is the oldest operating electric railway in the world. In 2016 Boutique Modern were contracted by Brighton and Hove City Council to manufacture and install the new Railway Station and Visitor Centre as part of the ongoing renovation of Brighton Seafront.

Designed by ABIR the station is designed to convey two passing train cars. Clad in vulcanised rubber and zinc the building is a prominent addition to the beach scene. Internally a plywood-lining and polished concrete floor show great examples of the range of finishes Boutique Modern can apply.

Delivered in 3 enormous modules the spaces include a café, ticket office, meeting room and managers office with accessible WC facilities. The Visitor Centre is open to the public and can be visited during the Summer months.
